Fangrein Excerpt p.? (Book 5)

We have always tried to stay unseen, but until now, our lives weren't dependent upon it.

The days of the Fangrein are numbered, our once beautiful life in the village is forever gone. We lived so freely, doing as we pleased, expressing ourselves in our own way. No laws or restrictions to hold us, just free willed beings living happily beside one another. Ashes and despair is all that remains of those days now. I wish to go back to those lazy days.

We have resorted to the underground caves of the underlings, it's dangerous but it's our only hope. Underlings are blind, but are very clever. We avoid small, low overhead, caves and stick to large pathways in hopes of confusing wandering underlings. The echo in a large cave makes it virtually impossible to locate it's originator.

We will take the caves to Willow Dale, where we meet with the other Fangrein refugees. I don't know how many survived the sudden onslaught, but I hope it's more than I expect.

Fangrein Excerpt p.1 (Book 1)

Fangrein Prophecy
-
The storybook of Fangreia was assembled in the last days of the Fangrein people to hold the most important secrets and instructions of the Fangreia.
Separated into five separate books, and hidden within each, a key to transcend the worlds in which each book was placed. Only when all five books meet back in the virgin earth, can the Fangrein begin to rise again and dethrone the Maunastrate.

Fangrein Excerpt p.? (Book 3)

We are mavericks, made up of societies unwanted. We are the outcasts, the socially inept. Thrown from our people for being different, unbreakable, free thinking. Our beliefs differ, which makes us strong. So many creatures and ideas coming together as a whole, we create our own eclectic machine. Opposing political and religious orthodoxy, and seeking value and meaning amongst our vast expanse. Fighting for equality and personal freedom. We are radicals, we are the Fangrein.

We built quite a following, numbers growing with every setting of our suns, with colonies that hide among the hills and forests. Fangrein villages littered remote cliff sides and shore lines, living far from those who put us astray. Until the Maunastrate came to power, and dashed everything we worked for.

Now only few Fangrein live, taking refuge in the only place the Maunastrate cannot find us.

Fangrein Excerpt p.? (Book 2)

She was so beautiful in the raw. Her long robe and scarfs kept her true spirit hidden.

I had never seen a female mortal disrobed before. I tried not to let her see that I was starring. And even though she didn't say anything, I think she knew I was awed by her well-proportioned figure, because she lapped water on her chest as if teasing me in the most innocent way.

"Haven't you seen a woman bare before?" she eventually asked me as she cleansed her hair in the creek water.

"Of course I have!"

I Lied.

"Aren't you going to bath with me?"

"I prefer to bath on my own. Not to mention, it's the middle of the night!" I sternly said. I didn't want her to know the truth, not yet anyway.

It was then my nose began to burn, and my eyes tear. That horrid smell that fell upon me, and stung my nostrils with the most intense agitation. I turned to look toward the village that was just over the hill, and what I saw frightened me. This was the first time in my life I had ever really known fear.

Black as night smoke billowed wildly from the village. I turned toward Lily who was stroking the water with her arms.

"What is wrong Shylo?" she asked innocently. She could tell by my expression something wasn't right.

I gave no regard to her question. I turned and ran toward town as fast as my legs could carry me. When I got to the top of the hill, I fell to my knees in disbelief of what I was starring at.

It was the Maunastrate.
